Simple truth: When you have a sense of “I am enough” about your body, you will have a general sense of confidence and well-being in every area of your life. Positive body image changes nagging self-criticism to sustaining self-care.
This may sound cliché, but good ideas typically are cliché: Money cannot buy happiness. Why? You can never have enough of what doesn’t satisfy. You can never have enough clothes, enough shine in your hair, enough perfection in your skin, enough compliments, enough friends, enough accomplishments, enough money, or enough possessions.
The only way to feel that you have “enough,” that you are “enough,” is to unplug from the persuasive “drug” of advertising that bombards your senses everywhere. Tune in, and really “connect” to the supportive messages your body gives you. Notice when that nagging sense of “not enough,” is triggered. Feed that hunger wisely. Find daily ways to give service and love. Eat good foods instead of convenient “junk” foods. Exercise because you love yourself. Count your blessings. Everything you really need is already yours.
